Trakehners
UK is very pleased to announce that two stallions
have been awarded "UK Elite" status:
Holme
Grove Solomon by Fernando out of
Schlobitten, bred by Julia Charlton and
owned by her mother Barbara Watkiss of Holme
Grove Farm. HG Solomon is 24 years old and
competed up to Medium level dressage before
a covering injury cut short his competitive
career. He was made BHF Top British Bred
Dressage Sire in 1998 and 2000. He has three
graded sons. His son, Holme Park Krug was
approved with Trakehners UK, performance
tested in Germany and stands at Holme Park
Stud. His son, Holme Park Vincent was approved
by the Canadian Trakehner Association. His
son Holme Grove Goldcard was approved by
the European Warmblood Society in South
Africa.
At the Annual Trakehner Show he has sired 8 premium mares, 5 mare grading champions,
7 champion foals, 5 youngstock champions, 3 riding horse champions and 3 supreme
champions, with many more gaining reserve titles.
His progeny in affiliated dressage competition
are too numerous to mention but include
16 offspring competing at Medium level dressage
and above. These include Holme Grove Merlin
and Grand Prix, Holme Park Karachi at
Inter I, Holme Park Silk at Prix St Georges,
Holme Grove Gershwin and Holme Grove Bolero
at Advanced level.
Holme Grove Solomon is an excellent sire
of competition horses and has made a tremendous
contribution to the Trakehner breed. |

Fleetwater Opposition by Muschamp
Danube out of Opushka was bred by Louise King
and owned by John Johnson at Landford Common
Stud. Although sadly no longer with us, he will
always be remembered for his outstanding contribution
both as a competitor and as a sire.
He won the Junior three day eventing Individual and Tem Gold medals when he was
6 years old. He went from Elementary to Advanced level dressage in two seasons
and was placed in every competition he entered up to Grand Prix.
He has an amazing reputation as a sire of competition horses in all disciplines,
but is probably best known for producing three day eventers. These include Olympic,
World Games and European bronze and silver medallist, Yarlands Summersong. His
son, Opposition Buzz ridden by Nicola Wilson has been selected for the World
Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
His son, Utopian Opposition, is an International
Grade A Showjumper and a Medium level dressage horse who is now an influential
sire in his own right. Other offspring include Opposition Heracles, Regal Opposition,
Opposition Leader, Future Illusion and Gaelic Opposition and the list just goes
on!
Adored around the world, Fleetwater Opposition leaves a unique legacy through
his many successful offspring. |
